September 2019 Meeting Recap

Submitted by Nancy P., Presicent

Attendance:  42 members, 6 new members, and 4 guests

This month’s meeting began with an icebreaker for members and guests to encourage people to meet each other and learn more about BNMQG.   Icebreaker sheets were to be kept by people as a reference for people.  An extra 10 minutes was given as people were very involved.  The business meeting began at 6:10.  Nancy P. started the meeting with her vision for the guild: “to support and encourage the growth and development of modern quilting through education, art, and community.”

Outgoing officers were recognized for their service and given a small token of appreciation for their dedication to the guild – Stormy H. and Kathy M. – co presidents in 2018-2019;  Cathie H. – vice president 2018-2019 who will now be the MQG guild liaison; and Teresa Arendell – secretary 2017 – 2019.

New officers were introduced:  Kathy Cook – vice president (not present), Betty Woodruff – treasurer, and Gale Imig – secretary (not present).

submitted by Nancy P., Treasurer

How’s this for good timing… we can finish our mini quilts for BNMQG  and submit them for the #ModernMiniQuiltChallenge since they fit the criteria for it too.

Submit your entry by emailing a high-resolution image of your quilt to by 5 p.m. CST on Tuesday, May 22, 2018  – Full details available here:  Join the 2018 Quilt Expo Modern Mini Challenge

This is extra incentive to finish your quilt – their deadline is the same as ours – Tuesday, May 22nd (even though their stuff says Tuesday the 23rd – Tuesday is the  22nd).

It would be awesome to see some of our quilts there.   Hope we have lots of entries in both!

Just thinking!
