Hello Modern Quilters,
Lots of great information was shared at our May meeting. We have many events and opportunities coming up. Don’t miss out!
Jess Wickline gave a wonderful program called Understanding Color. She talked about hue, value, saturation, palettes and more! View her presentation here in the member section. It’s a great resource for members and includes some book suggestions on color. Thanks Jess!
Next month’s program will be given by Kathy Cook and is about Designing with an Alternate Grid.
Our secretary, Betty W, announced that our guild will have an informational booth at the Gems show in Peoria on Saturday, August 26, 9-5 and Sunday, August 27, 11-4. Volunteers are needed to man the booth on Saturday afternoon and any time on Sunday. You may volunteer for an hour or all day! Come and enjoy the show then help spread the news about modern quilting and BNMQG! Email questions or to sign up.
Betty also announced the names of members who are running for board positions in August. They are, Treasurer, Ann Groonwald; Secretary, Ann Unes; Vice President, Donna Lee; President, Connie Borth and Kathy Cook.
Our Retreat will be on September 30, October 1 and 2. Email me if you want to teach a mini class! Details will coming soon in a separate post.
Our project manager for the QuiltCon Charity Challenge is Donna L. The steering committee has met twice and plans are underway! Donna shared the color palette, initial design ideas and dates for two sewing days to get us started. Members are excited to tackle this challenge! Find all the details here.
On June 8 at 9:30 am we will meet at BroMenn Hospital in the lobby by the Mother Baby unit to present the service quilts to the special care nurses. Everyone welcome!
